Teach Youth Art

Camp Sealth Residencies are an opportunity to connect youth from the greater Puget Sound region and beyond with professional artists from our community. Artists will be asked to create one and half hour sessions for 8-10 youth participants focusing on creating a project, learning a new skill, or collaborating on a wider community piece.

All Disciplines

Past residencies have included painting, writing and illustration, digital photography, darkroom photography, letterpress printing, yoga, paper mache, song writing, collage, mosaics, and color theory.

Location & Schedule

Camp Sealth is located on Vashon Island, Washington, a twenty-minute ferry ride from West Seattle or North Tacoma. Artists can expect a residency of 1 to 6 days, depending on the week and Artist availability. Camp Sealth runs a summer program from July 1 through August 26, operating 8 week-long sessions of camp. Each artist will be scheduled for one week, to include 1-4 days of teaching.

Costs & Compensation

There is no cost to be an Artist In Residence at Camp Sealth. In exchange for your instruction and expertise, Camp Sealth will provide room, board, most often the entire cost of materials for your program, and promotion of your work through our social media platforms. Additionally, Camp Sealth can provide compensation of summer camp tuition for one child in your immediate family, as well as other costs associated with your residency. Artist compensation is handled on a case-by-case basis, and all interested Artists are encouraged to contact us with questions.

For questions about the program, contact us by email or by phone at 206 463 3174.
